Off Topic Tillotson

Working with an old motor that resembles a motorcycle engine but is equipped with a full scripted Tillotson on the carb. Just wondered if British motors ever had Tillotson carburetors? Motor is a stationnary engine with an Aluminium shroud and the usual sidevalve cover adjustment plate. Head is also Aluminium. Carb is original.

Thanks for your comments.

Re: Off Topic Tillotson

I've never seen them on a stationary engine, but I have seen them on outboard motors. I think they had US made Zeniths on stationary engines as I have one lying at the side of my desk that came of an English stationary engine.

Re: Off Topic Tillotson

Dave, found out the engine was made by Toro in 1926. A US item. Has a hand crank like the Ford model A. It looks like a motorcycle engine, side valve.
