Dispatch Rider

Marsh is a member of our local classic bike club here in Durban.

Going up Sani Pass at 75 years of age is a hell of a thing. Its a boulder strewn dirt mountain pass of epic proportions.Not for the faint hearted even for someone half that age!

I see that the article mentions that Marsh rode amongst other things, Enfields, as a DR during WW2. There is precious little recorded of RE's on active service outside of mainland UK to the best of my knowledge.
Brandon, I wonder if you could chat to Marsh and see if he can recall which models of Royal Enfield he refers to?
I'm sure that Jan would be interested as well.....

Hi Alex..Obviously at 90 years old his memory is playing tricks.. ..or maybe he had the last of the 28 versions of components, when they nearly got it right.... ..A DR veteran said to me in Normandy.'If you want to have fun take a Matchless, if you want to get there take a BSA'...Will the arguments never end?... ...Ian
