Amazing how its bent between the engine & gearbox.
Maybe it was fork lifted in a badly made crate with too much weight above it .... Its my best guess 
The image is one of an 'Australian War Memorial' series. The Matchy was involved in a collision with a civilian vehicle in Melbourne during June 1943.
They don't give details of the rider's injuries other than a vague reference to 'casualties' but I can imagine that it hurt.
