Sorry if I've missed it in the excellent archives and technical sections here, but what size of modern grease gun fitting can be used for the wheel bearing and girder grease nipples?

I have a tookit 28-4265 grease gun, but will that have enough pressure to force out old grease? I'd like to use a modern device, so that's why I'm in need of the grease fitting size.

Most of an M20 grease nipples can be replaced with modern 1/4 BSF items. Your modern grease gun will lock onto these.Ron

On the subject of grease nipples, what is the size nipple in the speedo drive, I would like to replace mine with a more conventional type

I was searching the archives and couldn't find an answer for this question; the previous one above about the size of the speedo drive zerk. Is this a 1/8 BSF fitting?

Also, is grease the proper lubricant for a speedo drive box? Seems like there's some controversy, at least with the later units. Some folks swear by oil. Are the earlier boxes different?
