Got one here that's had about 3mm (leaving about 5mm on it) ground off the end of the thread for some reason....

That should be fine. I suppose I could loctite the nut as once its on there should be no reason to remove it again.If you could email me with a price it would be appreciated. I'm in Perth Western Australia.

Just cover the postage cost, i kept it only because it might get someone out of trouble. Will mail you the measurements just to be sure its what your expecting.
You will have to find a nut though as there's not one.
