Help to ID some Girder Forks

G'day, I recently picked up these girders though I'm not sure what they're from, if anyone has any idea please let me know, I can supply some measurements if that'd help.

regards, a young kid from Australia, Nick

Re: Help to ID some Girder Forks

Can you get any part numbers off them?

Edit.. Yes, was just looking at speed twin forks & the lower headlight bracket mounting being above the damper is what convinced me.

Re: Help to ID some Girder Forks

Looks like the Triumph Speedtwin types. Worth a pretty penny if they are.

Re: Help to ID some Girder Forks

Hi Nick,
They look identical to the forks I have on my 37 Ariel 500.
If you are not going to use them I would be interested.

Re: Help to ID some Girder Forks

someone else told me they might be Webbs.

if it helps I found this cast into the where the axle sits:

Re: Help to ID some Girder Forks

At first I thought they were Triumph. But I'm fairly sure Ray is correct with Ariel. The give away is the brake rod lug on the front right down tube, and the side check spring and mudguard lugs.... Ariel and Triumph stuff can be very similar. Something to do with Val Page and Edward Turner I think. Ron

Re: Help to ID some Girder Forks

They are Ariel, but the pre 1939 type. In 1939 the outrigger springs were fitted,so the lower headlamp mounts were moved from above the side dampers to the main tubes. The top yoke is for the deluxe rubber mounted bars clamp.
Cheers, Mick.
