If you really can't convert a normal bicycle/moped cable which retails at about GB Pounds 3 each, you can go to the specialists and buy some at app. 40-50.
Although I did not spot the cables on their price list, this company should be able to help out: www.welbikeuk.com
Buying bicycle cables would mean sourcing the correct nipples and the fiddly cable adjuster.
I can supply you with a make-your-own set with the correct adjuster and nipples, but with a modern look as the fiber covered material is nowadays unobtainable, for GB pounds 20, incl P&P to the UK.
But these would need to be made to the exact lentgh that you want, and some soldering.
Tried to source some from them , it seems to be a problem for them at the moment , ordered them along with the some canvas grips havn't got either , its the only items I need to finish it off .
I visited the above to purchase the steering assy , received excellent service , they said they are not happy with the end product (grips) so they are trying again to produce a better quality item !
I'm also in the market for some grips if anyone can direct me in the right direction, seen a pair in Australia 4 1/4 long , 1 brass 1 steel ferul
