can anyone identify this motorycle?

It's a bike from the old US TV series "M.A.S.H."

Re: can anyone identify this motorycle?

1941 500cc Indian Scout is my suggestion, note the right hand chain drive.

Re: can anyone identify this motorycle?

Yup, Fred,

Left-hand throttle, right hand tank shift and drive chain: Indian Scout.

Re: can anyone identify this motorycle?

Thanks, guys! I didn't expect that. I thought it was an Enfield.

Re: can anyone identify this motorycle?

Well for a short time later on, Indian badged bikes were marketed with Enfield powerplants weren't they so you could probably claim half a point :-D

Re: can anyone identify this motorycle?

A freind of mine in Houston Tx had several. He had a 500 US made twin as well. That thing was a POS. I believe it was the bike that finally bankrupted Indian before it was sold off to Floyd Clymer.

Re: can anyone identify this motorycle?

Indian collaborated with Vincent as well and used the Vincent engine at least getting as far as a prototype bike.. Now that was a collaboration that would have worked...Ian

Re: can anyone identify this motorycle?

I think that was for the Australian market only? Called a Vindian.
There were also Volecette and Corgi badged Indians. Ron
