Mag to timing oilseal.

Hello Guys,

I ordered 2 oil seals for the magneto shaft into timing case,
And got 2 completely different oilseal measurements..

Can anyone tell me what is the best modern equivalent available?
(For WM20)

Thanks,
Noam.

Re: Mag to timing oilseal.

Why unfortunately ?

Because I couldn't give you the answer you needed Noam

It must be a common seal though

Best regards

Re: Mag to timing oilseal.

I was just kidding John.
These days you are lucky to have any NOS part.

This was my intention..(If misunderstood)

Thanks again for trying to help!

Re: Mag to timing oilseal.

Oh no Noam not at all

I get so much free help on this forum I like to give back where possible - just disappointed I couldn't help with a simple enquiry for you

Yeah I found a guy at a jumble with a box of the old style seals so I grabbed a few while he still had them

Catch you next time

Re: Mag to timing oilseal.

Hi John..put them in the glass display cabinet with your other interesting oddities.. ...The seal detailed is readily availible from any bearing supplier in the UK....and does actually seal... ...Ian

Re: Mag to timing oilseal.

But not if your seal holder area is worn oval :-D

But that's another story

Re: Mag to timing oilseal.

Yeh,

I rebuilt a "new" (most of it NOS parts I gathered) engine and replaced mine
Because the oilseal seat was so oval and thin on the
upper side, that it hardly had any "meat" left at all on it..

Now when the old one is out, I will try to rebuild it into a better case..
