Carburettor Jet info required

I am just servicing my Amal 276 and the needle jet fitting broke in half! I was just trying to order a replacement from Burlen and it requires a size, but I cannot see a mark on my needle jet. The main jet is marked as "170" . Can anyone guide me on this please?

M20 needle jet is a 106. Burlen or Surrey cycles will know this. Ron

Re: Carburettor Jet info required

i think it will be next year before you can phone them

Re: Carburettor Jet info required

The majority of needle jets are 106, therefore they never stamped them unless they were smaller such as 105, or bigger such as 107.I think it was about 1980 that they started stamping the 106 as well. So if it is unstamped it is definitely 106 which is what BSA M20 use.As Burlen is closed I would be trying Hitchcocks in Solihull as they carry a good stock of Amal parts. John in Australia.

More great info, thanks John. My main jet does have 170 stamped on it though?

Re: Carburettor Jet info required

Main jets have always had a number stamped on them so that you know the size, the problem here is when someone drills them out bigger to make the bike go faster and later sell the bike and someone puts that jet into another carby and wonders why it runs so rich. Common in Australia. John
