Evenin' all.
Pre and post war BSAs used a method of connecting oil pipes which used banjos "countersunk" on both faces, with the corresponding screws and fittings having angled faces to suit.
Seems to be never-ending source of drips,so any hints and tips how to solve this irritating problem?
Thanks!
Hi Kev..I drill the fitting that screws into the crankcase with a 10mm flat bottomed drill, just deep enough to remove the taper. I then fit a 10mm x 1mm thick O ring into that recess.
Using the standard oil pipe and nut, the taper on the pipe then sits inside the O ring and seals as it is tightened. This retains a standard appearance. Take care that the pipe is correctly shaped so that it lies as square as possible to the crankcase fitting on assembly...Ian
