Sorry if this post is a bit basic but as I'm new to the M20 scene coming from a Matchie rebuild, I hope you can give guidance.
Although i'm just starting the rebuild my 42 M20 didn't have any wire that really went anywhere, just cut off in mid flight! So just for my benefit, are these negative or positive earth bikes and where are the correct earthing points for when I get to this stage.
If anyone has a good riders foot peg im looking to replace mine that was bent sometime in its past.
Sorry for such basic questions but if you dont know ask those that do
Thanks Pete
The tech section on the website link is great & full of useful hints & tips
M20's of this time were negative earth although if you are not a purist you could wire it anyway you want - just requiring your dynamo polarity to be altered to suit
Would like to see a piccy of yours as am gathering bits for a '41 myself
hi pete, can you not hold your footrest in a vice ,heat it up and pull it back into shape with a tube over the end?
it will save you about £20.00 cheers rick
Have a look at my bike on the link http://imageshack.us/f/502/bsam20pic2.png/
The bike is now split ready for blasting and painting so not a lot of resemblance there, hope I can just remember how it all goes back together
Ron, that is Rogers old bike, from what I know its fairly original unless you guys can tell me different. The plan was to get it on the road as and when but I just can't wait so hoping it will be road worthy next summer.
Robb, unfortunately most of my Matchie bits that were not used were un-salvagable, will keep my eye open if ther's anything in particular you are looking for, drop me a mail.
