Carburetor tuning

I had a fuel block and took the carb apart, cleaned and reassembled it. I closed the throttle screw and then opened 1-1/4 turns because that is what I remember one should do, but the bike won’t start only after many many kicks, and then while rev., if I open accelerator – the engine chokes. There is fuel reaching the float chamber. Please advice for tuning. Thanks – Michael.

Re: Carburetor tuning

Hi Michael,

Did you take the bottom jet block out and clean the fine
idle fixed jet on the side?

Sounds like it is blocked.

I usually start with 2 turns of air screw and go on from there.

It is important to regulate the air when bike is worm,
at work temp, cause this is what it would be when working.

If air is tuned when bike is cold for a good start,
It would not work correctly when hot.
(Usually with a very rich fuel mix)

Goog luck,
Noam.

Toda, Noam. I will give it a try.

Re: Carburetor tuning

Do you have an insulating spacer between the carb and engine block? You may have vapor locked.
