Hi Henk..Do you know when/where this picture was taken?...MLO is the Canadian abbreviation for 'Military Landing Officer'..so they must have landed somewhere in the recent past!...Ian

Re: Forum pic

Nice picture.

I hadn't heard of CMLO before either.

The blackout appears to have been relaxed so I guess its at the end or after the war.

The frame number of the front bike is WM20 28827 (acording to the keycard) and was sold off on the 31/1/62 from the British Army On the Rhine (BAOR).

Re: Forum pic

Does the "14" prefix mean it's a re-built machine?

Hi Lee

Yes, the block "C" 1400000-1499999 was reserved for rebuilt motor cycles.

Re: Forum pic

Can anyone make out what is above, and in front of the primary chaincases/crankcases on the bike in the rear of the photo?...Ian

Re: Forum pic

Sorry Ian I can't

I have consulted another forum and they think "CMLO" may stand for "Civilian Mixed Labour Organization", formed in 1947 as an unofficial Polish guard unit in Germany.
