improve your enfield clutch

clutch on my wd enfield.
Seemed like if it wasn't slightly dragging; it was slightly slipping. Had a fair few attempts at sorting it by cleaning the plates and resetting it up etc.

Turns out that for £9, Hitchcocks do a "kit" that turns your 3 spring set up into a 6 spring one. I think it's crusader part but it fits straight on.
Part number is "6spring"

Bimey. That's better .....

Re: improve your enfield clutch

Hi John. My own CO clutch slips a bit at high revs, and it's all quite new. But how much heavier does the six spring make it at the handlebar lever?

Re: improve your enfield clutch

I just did a round of pulling in clutches on various bikes. It's now everso slightly stiffer than all my standard burman and albion boxes.

That said it's not _that_ bad ... you won't be needing a grip like a gorilla...

Re: improve your enfield clutch

Thanks John it's worth considering. Mind you there must be something different about the parts supplied today. They must have had a much longer period between clutch overhauls originally.
