Hi,

I would like to add an original Tommy cooker to my collection, does anybody know where to get one?

Measurements to make one are also very welcome.

Re: Tommy cooker

That's no problem for Henk, Lex. He's not a softie like you! He only has half the water but twice the coffee.

Re: Tommy cooker

Now, Gramps remembers May 45; among the goodies we received from the Allies were big parcels with everything from corned beef, fruit gums, porridge, powdered tea with milk powder (BLAAAHUUU... ), but also a round tin with screw top. Inside a fuel stand consisting of three legs, not flat but (((, and several round fuel tablets.
Don't remember if it was Brit or 'murrican, but it worked like a charm; fond memories....

Re: Tommy cooker

During my service 1955-57 I was with the Engineers, and especially demolition. During winter we used those small demolition charges nr. 1 to heat our field rations. Of course VERY strictly forbidden, but our instructors were mainly Korea veterans, and they showed us that TNT burns nice and slow, but sooty...

Re: Tommy cooker

There are at least 3 types Henk..the third one looks like a tin can with a series of holes around the base and a removable lid..it is actually called a Tommy Cooker on the label which details operating instructions...Ian
