I have been bidding on a NOS +.030" B33 piston on e bay...it has 2 1/2 hours to go and is currently at £102. That follows a NOS +.020" B31 piston that sold recently for £125...
It seems that NOS pistons are another item that is climbing rapidly in price.
Though I must say I have always thought Brit bike pistons were cheap...they are only now coming into alignment with the lower end of piston prices for modern bikes..I paid nearly £200 for a Rotax 504 flat track piston for my Harris Matchless around 20 years ago ...Ian
This +030 B33 piston has been re-listed on evil bay.Was watching this one myself as I always buy genuine pistons if price is right for future stock to keep my bikes running. I personaly think £102.00 is not a lot for a nos piston compared to £90 +vat for a italian pattern one that I would only fit as a last resort. I recently rebored my B33 to +060 and have nos std & +020 pistons ready for a relined barrel if I ever need them or maybe my sons who will get my bikes when I cant ride anymore but they are in for a long wait Dave..
Hi Dave..I agree...If that is the one I think it is (8.5~1)..I'm already bidding. I shan't go too mad though..I really prefer lower compression ratio ones for standard engines. I go a whole different way if I want to make them go faster!... Ian
Same here I dont need another low comp piston for long rod B33. Now loooking for short rod piston around 9-1 comp ratio for a special oval flywheel motor that I,m building Dave..
