I understand there are 2 lengths of Girder fork blades, but have not come across the actual lengths for them. Does anybody have the dimensions and can enlighten me? Need to know so I can figure out whether to use the spacer for the frond mudguard, it doesn't seem to fit the stays either way so will need some tweaking.

Vince I have just measured two sets of standard forks. From the centre damper spindle to centre wheel spindle is 16 3/4". I gather the longer blades are 1/2" longer at this dimension. Ron
There are two different sets of fork legs 66-5014 and 66-5016.
66-5014 is the standard short 1939 civy fork leg also fitted on military contracts up to at least C6126 and the RAF contracts C10655 & C14052.
66-5016 is the longer military fork leg designed to give 1/2" extra ground clearence and first fitted around contract C9310, carried on until contract S7218 and I beleive was also used on postwar civy M20s.
I don't have access to more spares lists at the moment but the change would appear to have been in 1940/1.
Some fork legs have the part number stamped on them.
These are the part numbers for the front fork blades taken from that years parts lists. I am not sure about the first two but the 66-5014 is the short version while the 66-5016 is the long one. The first two are probably also short.
