One of the locals here has about a dozen 1957 TRW's.
Varying from new to basket cases, he always said in 1957 Triumph only assembled 28 (I think) complete TRWs as there was such a huge surplus of 1956 models in stock. But there are supposed to be many spare 1957 engines around. According to Al, the 1957 bikes all came to Canada in one contract, and it was his life challenge to track them all down and "complete the set". Up until about 10 years ago, there were supposedly still bikes in the crate turning up.
When Crown assets got rid of the last of them in about 1973, there were lots supposedly still in the crates.
We always thought he was a bit crazy, and figured when he found 1957 TRW #29 he would have an instant stroke and drop dead on the spot....maybe he wasn't such a loon afterall...
