Maybe Ian can answer this one...the shafts won't seperate from the box. Is it the speedo drive that is holding these inside?
On WM20 it just pulls out, but the set on the 1946/47 350cc seems held by something. Henk, this is a spare box that I am training on. Not the one received from you.
You first have to remove the speedo drive from the early B31 gearbox and then you can take the box apart. It's the lay shaft that has splines (?) teeth for the speedo drive at the bronze bearing location. I have a few NOS lay shafts for such a box if you need one.
Hi Henri,
The gearbox shell should come away leaving the shafts located in the inner cover like the wm20 gearbox. There maybe some dirt or rust on the main shaft behind the sprocket preventing the main shaft sleeve gear sliding over the main shaft.
