M20 & B31 Question

Does any know where I can purchase a NOS gudgeon pin with clips to suit a NOS 40thou over M20 piston?
also
I want to make a cut-out ring spanner, or socket, so I can check the torque of the 4, barrel/head bolts on my early B31 engine. Can some-one tell me the size of the ring spanner/socket required.
My guess is 3/8"W or BS size.
It is not 1/2 or 9/16 AF.
Thanks in advance.

Re: M20 & B31 Question

Hi Kieth...C&D Autos had some gudgeon pins and Russell Motors are always worth a try. Circlips are the same as a Triumph T140 so they are pretty easy to source. It might also be worth checking the length of the T140 pin...it is the same diameter as an M20, B31 etc.
The OHV head bolts are a Whitworth spanner size...5/16". There were no torque settings originally for these..it was simply a case of doing them up tight and more importantly, evenly around the 4 bolts. They will pull up solidly as no head gasket is used. The barrel spigot and cylinder head recess should be lapped together with fine grinding paste until an even sealing surface is created..exactly as you would with a valve seat...Ian
