I remember someone saying a while back about putting gold star cams into a B33. Is it true that you need to use gold star valve springs because of the springs binding with the higher lift or are B33 springs ok.

Hi Terry..You can fit Touring and Scrambles Gold Star cams without changing the valve springs. The Clubmans inlet will require changes to be made...Ian

Just done this, and something is hitting near topdead centre, so we chucked the standard ones back in until we're ready to take off the head and investigate.

I normally take the top off the valve guides as there is some variation in guide lengths and the spring collar can contact the guide at max. lift..shorten them down to just above the location shoulder...Ian
