Rear saddle

I had a look at a rear saddle today, it appears to be the short later war type, it appears different to the usual ones, in that the top framework is straight instead of having a slight curve in it and the extra springs running down the side are not fitted and it has no provision for them. It appears to be in an original green paint that has a lot of age to it and the cover is embossed Acumen, has anyone any ideas as to what it is off?

Re: Rear saddle

Only £6.5 ... you lucky sod!

The one on the right looks post war to me, but the one on the left appears to be the type that was used on the Royal Enfield WD/CO during contract S/1546 (June '44 - May '45).

Re: Rear saddle

No, sorry, not like either of them, it is just like the late war WD ones, but is straight on the top framework

Hi Dave,

Does it look like this one?

This appears to be a WM20 pillion seat. But that's all I know...

Re: Rear saddle

The normal ones I see have a slight curve in the profile of the top framework, which made me wonder as yours dosen't have it.
