tool box/ twist grips

Hi guys
I am restoring M20-109711 and need a tool box, There is one on trade me here in nz ( auction number 404071085 ) It says it is for an A10/B31. Can any one tell me if this is the same an M20 WD.
I would also like to know what type of twist grips (canvus or rubber ) would have been fitted to my bike back in 44?.
Cheers

Re: tool box/ twist grips

Hi Phil,

It would be canvas grips.

The oil tank would not be correct for your bike. Drat!

Re: tool box/ twist grips

The military M20 toolbox is much wider than any of the civvy models. I have this one for sale for £60.
It's sound but has two small splits in top of lid that will require attention and a few small dents in lid. It has the riders handbook pocket on inside of lid. I expect post to NZ would kill it though. Ron

Re: tool box/ twist grips

I am trying to find the tommy bar type bolt for the tool box. Mine is a simple round knurled bolt. Not only do I suspect this to be incorrect its nigh on impossible to undo without pliers. Anyone?

Re: tool box/ twist grips

That's easy Andrew. Russells have them NOS in dull plate for about £12. 02072281714. Ron

Re: tool box/ twist grips

andrew keep a pair of pliers in the tool box then you can use them to undo the tool box nut
