Hans. Have been looking at your rear stand modification. Hadn't noticed that before. I'm not an engineer, so I wouldn't know how well or how badly that works.
But here's another thought. Couldn't you devise a more simple "foot" for the rear stand that allows a rider to "roll on" the loading. My BMW R80 Boxer, for instance, has a roll-off stand. But my M20 has a more distinct fulcrum point. As you know, once you've got the M20 over that pivot, it's pretty simple.
So what if the rear stand had a bolt-on device that allowed an owner to more steadily and smoothly raise the bike? Would that work? And can anyone be bothered to try and make one?
Got to be a market for it if it's neat, cheap and fairly elegant.
Panther motorcycles of the 30's had a special rear stand, you could put it on the stand with one finger!! and having owned over 15 models, I can say that is true!!
