Are the rear footpegs both the same length, or is the toolbox side peg longer? I bought a pair off e-bay that were advertised as original, both are the same length and match the left-side one on my bike, but I am wondering if the other (right side) should be longer? Now I have a spare if anybody needs one, let me know.

The bottom one is a civilian one..with those the two sides were different...Ian

Some very early war M20's used these footrest, but with rubber on it.

i thought the wd ones had a longer offside peg, because the toolbox is wider on the wd version than the civvy ?

hi vincent regarding foot rest i read somewhere that the bottom foot rest was fitted on the left hand side of m20 when there was a sidecar chassis fitted hope this helps

I understood that on civilian machines the shorter one was on the nearside and the longer one on the offside to clear the silencer. Both footrests were of the same pattern as the lower one in Hans photo and were fitted with rubbers. Oddly, in view of that, WD footrests are the same length and both shorter than the 'long' civvy one.. ...Ian

In some respects you are right Rick..it makes little difference in practice...but as with other specs. people just like to know how things should be...Good point Dave...nearside is the left of the bike as you sit on it, naturally!! ...Ian
