Hi roger
My understanding is that you should anneal a solid gasket only after you remove it, head removal etc
If it works leave well alone possibly best
Maybe our guru pals here will have better experienced based advice for you
Just my tuppence worth

Your right John..there is no need to remove a gasket just to re anneal it...Once removed, however, it will then need re annealing before refitting. Heat copper gaskets/washers to red and quench in cold water to restore the original 'softness' of the material...Ian
