Magneto - conversion

Hi all
I'm gathering parts to convert a tight wire advance m20 magneto to a slack wire type, cable entering on left side of points cover

I have a new end cover/bearing cover but now i believe i need a new points cam, marked "R"
Std cams are marked "L"
Can someone help me in obtaining one of these ?
Many thanks

Re: Magneto - conversion

The face cam stays the same John, L and R stands for the direction of rotation of the magneto, they give a different location for the points to open depending on what your bike needs. I have quite a few face cams, let me know if you need one.

Re: Magneto - conversion

But John! Why are you going to such lengths to make your bike incorrect? I know it is a better idea...but still wrong Ron

Re: Magneto - conversion

And how often does that cable break? Now I come to think of it mine never broke, throttle cables and clutch cables yes but never the magneto cable

Re: Magneto - conversion

Help help, i'm being oppressed

:-D

As you know i ride with twin throttle & clutch cables wired on, the advance /retard cable is the only one not doubled up, eliminate the possibility i suppose
