Thank you enormously chaps, I now have a fully functioning bike! Ron, the only problem encountered was the valves had slight rusting preventing free movement but the bike is now solid and boy has some compression, (my poor knee!).
Glad to help Stephen. Without trying to teach Granny to suck eggs! Slowly press the kick starter till it goes tight with compression. Use the valve lifter and press it a little bit more to get the piston past compression. Now return the starter to the top, then a good healthy kick to spin the engine. It will be like kicking a 250 and save your knees. Ron
