wanted battery carrier bracket

For my next M20 restoration project I am looking for the triangular bracket for the battery carrier. Does someone on this forum have one for sale?

Leon

Re: wanted battery carrier bracket

Mick,

I guess these are pattern ones. Are they also the 1/8" gauge steel or are these the Japanese car type 0,00005 mm gauge steel?

Re: wanted battery carrier bracket

HI, I've got the same type as a complete assembly £30 plus the postage, I was told it was off a Sunbeam but it is exactly the same as an M20 type apart from the piece that goes across the front of the battery (horizontally) it has a slightly raised section instead of just being flat, it has the brass nuts for the clamp. It is slightly rough on the carrier itself, but the triangular plate is pretty good

Re: wanted battery carrier bracket

What's a PM..?. The raised section in the horizontal bar is supposed to be there...it allows for the fitment of a small, shaped rubber block that presses against the face of the battery. They are always missing...Ian

Re: wanted battery carrier bracket

Hey Leon, made a few years ago using the on from my M20 as a pattern. Quite a sturdy lump for what it does.
Cheers, Mick.

Re: wanted battery carrier bracket

Only ever seen one fitted to a bike Henk...and it was a properly made rubber moulding.

Explain to me why the kink in the battery carrier is there...?

Thats strange, the one on mine is flat, and I'm sure the one on my last bike was too- you learn something new every day!
