When I open the forum, the new items are in bold; when I have read an item in "Recent posts" I go back to the list by clicking "Recent posts" again, and then the text of that item is normal again, indicating it was 'read', and I can proceed to the next 'bold'item.
But now the text remains bold; am I the only one with this problem

Most of the time this works ok here but sometimes I have that same problem you are having.

Problem solved (for the moment at least). Talked sternly to the screen, waved a hammer and restarted the computer, and that helped

Try to check your "Cookies" setting in the PC.
Too high security and "Do not accept cookies" can cause it sometime.

I never had this problem.
