Mystery wheel

Then there's this mystery wheel, that looks like Triumph??

Hi Alex..looks like an early post war Triumph wheel to me..the wartime and earlier ones had a recess machined into both faces of the bolt on sprocket.
Saying that though some features of the brakeplate don't look quite right for a Triumph so my second guess would be Ariel.(and Ariel did use the 'wedgewood' blue on some models).Ian

Thanx Ian, I don't know enough about Ariels, exept having owned a Square 4 briefly, better of with the the B4's now!

Did some models have a cable operated rear brake?

Hey Lex, its plunger Ariel. Pre 51 they had a rod brake, '51 on a cable.
