I got to the stage of putting the rear wheel in, (rigid m20 qd type)
I tightened the thing up and the brake plate is wonky compared to the drum, ie not parallell.
its like the middle sleeve through the drum is too long or something .
I think maybe the felt washer i wrong or somethng.Does the felt washer go in the yellow part or the red part? (ignore the arrow)

Hi Maxwell, it sounds like the brakeplate isn't seating on "Spigot" properly, I think you should take it off again and check for burrs or other damage.

definitly a big fat felt washer in the yellow and can't remember is the rear hub has the smaller felt as well.

Iv'e been out and removed the felt washer, I got one from russel and it was only big enough for the red zone (see image) It made the spigot petrude too far.
I wound it all up with no felt washer and its ok now.
Ill have to find a felt washer some other time like
