Bore

I am about to have my cylinder bored and would like to clarify that on the 'Engine Clearances' list on this website (that is so helpful with specifications), where it says, 'Piston Skirt Clearance' this is the same as 'piston to wall' clearance? I have one of those wonderful NOS pistons that is .060 over. Many thanks ahead of time!

Re: Bore

Aaron. The piston skirt is measured at the widest part at the bottom of piston. The pistons are ground to a slightly oval shape, but your machinist will know this. I think 4.5 - 5 thou clearance is correct for an M20. Modern machine shops might think this is a large clearance, but it's only because they're not familiar with old hot running SV's. Ron
