Hi Folks, Is there a milling cutter that is hollow on the inside and can remove metal on the outside as in the pinion gear timing gear working from its top?

Do you mean to reduce the weight on a pinion by undercutting the faces on it? If you do mean this, you would do it in a lathe, just using a facing tool to remove metal from the centre

Hi Dave, Was trying to remove the timing pinion, and after visiting a friend with a set of pullers more than thirty years old, we removed it. All is well.
Cool that you have it out without too much damage. I guess I don't need to look for a cutter then. Cheers
