Thanks for posting that Brian. Another Norton census number for the list.

Acording to the tables in Hodges & Taylor, '47' with a corps distinguishing bar above seems to have been used as a spare for Corps Artillery Units. I must admit though that I can't see a horizontal red / blue colour split.

I'm a bit vague on Australian vehicles but the utes look to be Fords.

I'd assume that this relates to the Australian 1st Corps in Syria so presumably very early in the year.

removeable div plate is this so you can lend it to another div and they can put their plate on it

The sign was originally reversible and could be turned to display "PASS" if the vehicle was disabled in a convoy situation.

There was of course the advantage that it saved repainting if vehicles were re-issued to different units.
