Fibre gear lubrication

Hello all;
Does the fibre gear require a smear of grease on the teeth or is it designed to drive the dynamo dry.
IMO the fibre gear clutch slip mechanism should be dry, so I'm guessing the teeth should be left unlubricated. Can't find anything specific in the maintenance manual.
Any thoughts from the experts???
Thanks Keith

Re: Fibre gear lubrication

The guy who rebuilds all my mags uses a little light grease on the fibre gear. I've never had any trouble with the clutch assembly..though I always have a new spring fitted....Ian

Re: Fibre gear lubrication

The guy that does my magnetos here in Holland uses some kind of applesauce like grease. I've never had any trouble with the clutch assembly while I never fit a new spring.
