Locally made components

When my Big4 arrived from India it had this magnificent brass handlebar top clip fitted.

Interestingly it doesn't have the usual slots for the handlebar rubbers

Rob, never seen one before like that!

But it will match this part:

Came from an engine from France, could be early???

Re: Locally made components

Very nice.

That reminds me, there was a bronze Big4 timing chain cover at Shepton Mallet AJ last year, it hadn't been drilled for the securing bolts and I think he wanted 30 quid.

Re: Locally made components

Yes, I had that in my hand at a jumble somewhere, but the fact it wasn't drilled kept me from buyin it!

I might use the bronze valve cover, but will matt chrome it first, there were traces on it, berfore I beadblasted and polished it.

Re: Locally made components

Rob, stop coming over all unnecessary over these brass bits. I expect they were made by a walla sitting crossed legged in the sand. Ron

You want to be careful Rob, what will happen to your Big 4 in this cold weather?..it might end up 3/4 scale (474.75cc)...remember the brass monkey?. ..Ian
