It was a great pleasure for me yesterday to attend the Diamond Wedding Celebrations of my dear friend, Ian Micklethwaite who married Shirley Lister in June 1957. Ian will be remembered as one of the most accomplished Sportsman to have attended the school, acting as captain of both the cricket and rugby teams. Although Ian has not been blessed with the best of health of late, from the conversation we had, it would seem that he is hoping to attend the reunion lunch in September. I hope he cam make it.

Good news about Ian, Denis, I hope he can make it too! I was in the 1950 1st X1 with Ian and was always in awe of his batting prowess. He always seemed to have so much time to play his shots and had the full array of strokes all around the ground. I do hope he makes it.
