1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

2 Timothy 4:7-8
For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing

OBAMA TO DELIVER PRIME-TIME ADDRESS ON MILITANTS

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama will address the nation Wednesday night to outline plans for an expanded U.S. effort to confront violent Islamic State militants in Iraq and Syria.

"The president believes this is a high national security priority," White House spokesman Josh Earnest said.

Ahead of his remarks to the American people, Obama planned to meet Tuesday with congressional leaders from both parties. White House officials have said Obama wants "buy-in" for his strategy from lawmakers, but they have not specified what that means or whether the president will seek a formal authorization for military action.

There was also no consensus in Congress on whether Obama needs new authorization to attack the militants. Some lawmakers say the president has the authority under the Constitution and no new vote is necessary. Others are reluctant to vote weeks before midterm elections.

Administration officials said Obama is expected to outline a broader counterterrorism effort to defeat the Islamic State, moving beyond the current limited mission aimed at using airstrikes to safeguard U.S. interests in Iraq and to ease humanitarian crises. The president will also reiterate his call for Congress to pass a $500 million plan to arm and train the Syrian rebels and ask for similar commitments from allies.

Secretary of State John Kerry was traveling to the Middle East Tuesday to discuss those efforts with leaders in Saudi Arabia and Jordan.

A President Whose Assurances Have Come Back to Haunt Him

WASHINGTON — When President Obama addresses the nation on Wednesday to explain his plan to defeat Islamic extremists in Iraq and Syria, it is a fair bet he will not call them the “JV team.”

Nor does he seem likely to describe Iraq as “sovereign, stable and self-reliant” with a “representative government.” And presumably he will not assert after more than a decade of conflict that “the tide of war is receding.”

As he seeks to rally Americans behind a new military campaign in the Middle East, Mr. Obama finds his own past statements coming back to haunt him. Time and again, he has expressed assessments of the world that in the harsh glare of hindsight look out of kilter with the changed reality he now confronts.

In making his speech, Mr. Obama faces the challenge of reconciling those views with the new mission he is presenting to the American public to recommit the armed forces of the United States to the region he tried to leave. Rather than a junior varsity nuisance, he will try to convince Americans that the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria represents a clear threat to national security in a state that is hardly stable. And he will seek to win patience for more war from a public that wishes it really was receding.

To Mr. Obama’s critics, the disparity between the president’s previous statements and today’s reality reflects not simply poorly chosen words but a fundamentally misguided view of the world. Rather than clearly see the persistent dangers as the United States approaches the 13th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, they said, Mr. Obama perpetually imagines a world as he wishes it were.

“I don’t think it is just loose talk, I think it’s actually revealing talk,” said Peter H. Wehner, a former adviser to President George W. Bush now at the Ethics and Public Policy Center. “Sometimes words are mistakes; they’re just poorly put. But sometimes they’re a manifestation of one’s deep belief in the world and that’s what you really get with President Obama.”

Re: OBAMA TO DELIVER PRIME-TIME ADDRESS ON MILITANTS

I won't be watching it.

Re: OBAMA TO DELIVER PRIME-TIME ADDRESS ON MILITANTS

Me neither, but I wonder why he calls them militants and not terrorists?? Maybe because he says we got rid of terrorists???

Re: OBAMA TO DELIVER PRIME-TIME ADDRESS ON MILITANTS

Kathy & Sandy,

I won't be watching either!

However, to those who are interested and want to hear first hand what he will say, this is a reminder, that He will speak tonight so I heard.

I'll check the news reports tomorrow and see what they have to comment on his speech. Hopefully, it will be a benefit to the American people...we'll see!

Re: OBAMA TO DELIVER PRIME-TIME ADDRESS ON MILITANTS

I won't be watching it either because everything that come out of the mouth of this man is a lie. It might sound good but the New World Order people have already planned on what they want to do next and the puppet will do anything they want.
