Phoenix Hit With Massive Dust Storm, Then Flooding

What is going on in Phoenix?? WOW - First dust storms then flooding everywhere. They got the worst of both ends of the weather. Tammy, I hope you were not close enough to Phoenix to be caught in the mess.

T/Sue,

We live NW of Phoenix, along the Colorado River region...and we were the last to get these storms, and we weren't even flooded-out either.

Incidentally, Las Vegas, NV, got it worst of all...what with the flooding out of several roads/or highways heading towards in/out of this SIN CITY. Highway 95, just south of Henderson (that heads into Las Vegas), and I-15 (which heads also heads into Vegas AND out...towards St. George, UT) got flooded out. I also believe that I-15 that is west of Vegas, that heads to/or from Los Angeles, CA, also was a washout too.

Living in Lake Havasu, one never really has to worry about washouts...due to the way our city is built, and our washes all wash down to the River/or Lake. In other words, our heavy rain water has a place to go...whereas, the Maricopa County rain water doesn't.

So therefore--we're A-OK over here in Lake Havasu City.

Tammy I am so glad to hear that you are fine and that God kept you sheltered under His Wing!

I saw some photos of the flooding in Nevada and in Pheonix. What are the odds that two desert states would get so much rain it would flood? More wacky weather! Today it is 100 degrees here in north Texas. Tonight a front is coming in bringing rain and cooler temps. The high tomorrowis 88 and Saturday the high is 75. That's a big drop in temperature here so early in September. All next week the highs are in the upper 80's.
