1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

Is This How It Will All End?


Pastor J.D Faraq of Calvary Chapel, Kaneohe, Hawaii produces some excellent Bible prophecy videos. He has some interesting comments on 1 Thessalonians 5:2-11.

Please read this Scripture passage carefully (especially the underlined portions):


2For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 3For when they say, "Peace and safety!" then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. 4But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. 5You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. 6Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. 7For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night. 8But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. 9For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him. 11Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.


Using this Scripture, Pastor Faraq compares the coming day of the Lord to a pregnant woman with labor pains.

Remember that Bible prophecy revolves largely around Israel. It is interesting that U.S. Secretary of State (and Vietnam traitor) John Kerry announced a few months ago that he expects an Israeli-Palestinian peace agreement (peace and safety) in "nine months." That is the gestation period of a pregnant woman. Why did he specify exactly nine months and not eight, or ten, or whatever? That nine-month period ends in April 2014 during the Passover season and ominously at the time of a rare blood red moon.

The U.S. is trying to impose an anti-biblical and dangerous peace deal upon Israel. This arrogant human action is an invitation for Divine intervention.

At the same time, we know that any day Iran is getting a nuclear bomb. Because of their maniacal threat to destroy Israel, Israel could launch a preemptive attack on Iran any day, inflaming the region and possibly triggering World War III.

So here we have an announcement of "peace and safety" to occur at the end of a nine-month gestation period and at an unprecedented, explosive time in the Middle East! Hello!

Note that the passage does not say, "WE shall not escape." Instead, it says, "THEY shall not escape." Indirectly, that is saying that WE SHALL escape. Who is the "we"? That's us!

Escape what? Escape the "sudden destruction" or Tribulation. How do we do that? Via the rapture!!!

Many believe the sudden destruction and the rapture will occur simultaneously. The above provides a scriptural basis for such a view and explains how.

This is further confirmation of a pre-Tribulation rapture. Post-tribbers have no explanation for this. This is confirmed again in verse 9 of this same passage: "God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ."

I totally agree, this is a real possibility.

Here are just a few examples from your post above from Jim, which confirms, a Pre Tribulation Rapture, with sudden destruction and Rapture taking place simultaneously. For God did not appoint us to wrath. Thanks be to God!
