1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

2 Timothy 4:7-8
For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing

Close Encounters

Just watched Close Encounters of the Third Kind (again). You know that part of the movie when Richard Dreyfuss' character is going nuts? He knows something, but he can't put his finger on it, or he doesn't know what to do about it. That's kind of how I feel about the rapture.

I know no one knows the exact day/time, but sometimes I feel like I know this big secret that most others don't. Not about the timing, but just that it's going to happen at all. And even that I know more about it, but can't access the information to comprehend it completely. It's like the information is all there inside of me, I know it's there, but I can't get to it. I'm aware of it. But can't use it. Not yet, at least. I feel like maybe I'm supposed to do something with the information, but I don't know what. It's like owning a big safe full of money. It's your safe. It's your money. But you don't have the combination.

It's too big of an event to not say or do something about it, but what can I do or say about it that hasn't already been said by the much more prolific teachers of end times than I?

If I had to be honest, I have never really felt led to evangelize, but I do so feel called to pay attention to the signs of the end times. God has placed that passion and interest in my heart. What is the meaning or purpose of life? For me, I sometimes think that maybe Jesus put me here on earth at this time in history to be a watcher and warner. Anybody else feel this way?

Re: Close Encounters

I'm with you Brady! Sometimes I just want to stand up in the middle of the restaurant or the store or wherever I am and just shout "JESUS IS COMING". It is so odd that even a lot of Christians have no interest in the Rapture at all and get upset if you bring it up in conversation.

I feel like I was born to look for the rapture and watch all the signs fall into place. It is closer than ever and like J.R. Church and Gary Stearman of Prophecy In The News say, "Keep LOOKING UP everybody"!

Re: Close Encounters

T/Sue & Brady--

I'm with both of you. I too, want to do same, but it seems that nobody gives a rap about anything related to God/& or they scoff at you for trying to warn them. They say stuff like...you've been saying things like that for years. Like ever since I knew you. Or, you'll be around when you reach your senior years, or up until you breathe your last breath. They also try to change the subject...letting me know that they're not interested in anything I try to say to them.

Anyhoo, so now I keep quiet...since I get tired of them scoffing at me. I just turn them over to the Lord, hence putting them in His hands. And furthermore--the Lord has much MORE patience then I do with them. Doesn't He?

Maranatha!
