1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

2 Timothy 4:7-8
For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing

the bride has made herself ready

at first I posted this under Calvins talk talk talk post, but it isn't football talk so I'm reposting it here. can we talk?
Well, here is something that was spoken of today "somewhere else" that can we please talk about. It was said about the quote "the bride has made herself ready" being in Revelation 19:7 but rapture gets referred to by pretrib believers in Rev 4. The writer was implying that this proves there is no pretrib rapture.

now, this may be speculation, but what if we are taken to where the Lord is, but the wedding doesn't actually happen until Rev 19 "timing", which is weird in itself to say timing because there is not time in heaven. But, what if the bride GETS TO get ready in heaven, meaning gets to participate in some way in preparing for this heavenly event, and then when the bride of Christ and the Father and the Son are ready, it happens.

Talk talk talk. The more I say, the more it proves how little I know. Sorry RFTH. I'm going to carry on believing in my saviour to be, my saviour.
Thank you Jesus
come quickly

Re: the bride has made herself ready

Well, we'll need to put on our bridal gowns if we don't enter Heaven wearing them! At least, we women will; I don't know what the men will wear. =)

Beyond that, I just don't know!

There is a verse that says that God inhabits the praises of His people
Surely there will be songs of love and victory on that longed for day when we are gathered to our bridegroom King and on the wedding day of the Lamb. Since God inhabits our praise, let us draw near to the most beloved One of heaven and earth. Our Maker, Our Savior, Our Redeemer, Our Resurrection, Our Life, Our Wonderful Counselor, Our Mighty God, Our Everlasting Father, Our Prince of Peace, Our Maker is our husband, the Lord of Hosts is His name…
Angels sing adoration to the King of the Universe

Psalm 22: thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

Psalm 147
1 Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.

2 The LORD doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.

3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

5 Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

6 The LORD lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.

7 Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:

8 Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.

9 He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.

10 He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.

11 The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

12 Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.

13 For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee.

14 He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat.

15 He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly.

16 He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.

17 He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?

18 He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.

19 He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.

20 He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the LORD.
