As if wars, rumors of wars, attacks on innocent people around the world, christians killed by jihadists, millions of dead fish, birds, animals, hurricanes, earthquakes and floods are not enough proof that hell has come up to the surface of the earth here is more proof. Masses of giant hornets are stinging and killing dozens and injuring hundreds in China according to this article in the news. I know the trib won't start until we are pulled out of here but it almost seems to be rolling out now. If we are seeing a preview of coming events I am glad we get to leave first. Twenty-eight people have died and hundreds have been injured in a wave of attacks by giant hornets in central China, according to reports.

Victims described being chased for hundreds of metres by the creatures and stung as many as 200 times.

Most of the attacks in the past three months were in remote, rural, wooded areas in southern Shaanxi, the province's China Business newspaper reported.

In the city of Ankang alone, 18 people have died from the stings, health official Zhou Yuanhong told Associated Press. People in the cities of Hanzhong and Shangluo have also been injured.

The insects' highly toxic stings can lead to anaphylactic shock and renal failure. An official from Ankang's disease control centre urged people to seek medical help if they received more than 10 stings, and warned that emergency treatment was required for those stung more than 30 times.

One woman in her 50s said she had spent almost a month in hospital and was still incontinent after receiving more than 200 stings. A man from her village died of kidney failure.[/quote]

Speaking of Hornet attacks, I was fortunate not to have been bitten, but the attack came on suddenly. On Monday coming out of Walmart, a half a dozen hornets, came out of nowhere it seemed, swarming around me, trying to get into the bags of food and trying to attack me. They had many a chance to bite me, as I waited for my husband to bring the car around front of the store. He helped me shoo them away, thank God, I was able to get in the car, before, anything happened.

My daughter's friend's cousin, wasn't so lucky. She went camping with a couple of girlfriends, and a hornet stung her in the juggler vein on the side of the neck, and she died within minutes. The girlfriends were swimming in the lake, and she sat in the shade under a tree; when they got out, they noticed her sitting with her head bend forward and ran to see what was wrong. When they got to her she was dead. Her parents buried her, she was in her early thirties.

My youngest brother who's in his late fifties now, was bitten by a couple of hornets, when he was but a child of 8. He had to be rushed to the emergency department of the hospital, because he started to swell up, and found it hard to breath. They gave him a shot, and kept him overnight he came home the next day; however, he got very close to losing his life at a very young age.

A couple of years back our neighbor who lived across the street was tending to his front yard garden. Apparently he too was bitten by some hornets, rushed to the hospital, but they weren't able to save him, and he died. Sad to say he left behind three small children, his wife, and mother, he too was
in his late 30's early forties.

It's a good idea to carry an epi pen around with you, just in case you get stung and have an allergic reaction, it can save your life. Remember to ask your doctor first, if you are taken medication or have a medical condition, if the epi pen might aggravate the situation in your case. Some people don't even know if they are allergic, until they are bitten.

so we have them here in Toronto? When I was reading the article I was glad I did not live in China. you think it is a good idea for everyone to have an epi pen just in case?

Valerie, how awful for that poor young girl and your little brother. I think that God protected you at the store because otherwise they would have stung you. I remember that the first house my husband and I bought had hornets. We noticed these holes in the front flowerbed and wondered if snakes had tunneled under our flowers. Then one day these huge hornets, about 2 1/2 inches long, flew up out of those holes. They were nesting in the ground like snakes. I think that all such things that sting, bite, cause pain and suffering literally have come from hell and during the millenial kingdom will go back there.

Those poor people in China! These hornets according to the article are also huge and lethal. It is like the level of evil in nature is rising to the level of evil in people across the earth. Very weird and unnerving isn't it?

I too am so thankful to God that I didn't get stung. I have a few allergies,
and I realized that I should carry an epi pen with me as well, especially after the incidence on Monday outside of Walmart.

I ordered a "Free" start up kit, used for practice, from epi pen Canada, and will have to speak to my doctor about the dosage. I believe those whom live in Canada can order a starter kit for free and I don't know about the U.S.A. Will try to look into it, for those residing in America.

I was in the backyard the other day -- just started to read a book. When I got a searing, hot pain in the right hand -- and didnt know what would cause that !!! When I looked - I saw a big hornet stuck to my hand, I shook my hand violently to get it off but it just stayed there stuck to my hand !! So I shook my hand even harder and finally it went. The pain was excuciating, I ran and got a salve for it in my medicine cabinet. Next the pain went up my arm to almost my elbow. I trouble sleeping that night for the pain. The pain continued on throughout the whole next day. I drank Vitamin C all day trying to kill the bacteria. And the next day also... the pain finally left and then turned into itching which lasted about a day and half. Finally the whole thing is over except for some swelling that is still there !!

Thank God I am not allergic !!

Thank God Cheryl you're not allergic, many people die every year, that were allergic and didn't even know it.

When I was a teen, I remember was stung by a bee it bit me near the top of my eye socket, just missing my eye. My whole eye was swollen shut, but I didn't have any other symptoms beside the excruciating pain. I thank God I recovered just fine without any complications, and so thankful it missed my eye. It just flew straight toward my eye with full force, I didn't have a chance to get out of it's way. So I know I'm not allergic to bees, but hornets, etc., I don' know.

I had a terrible food allergy to milk, since I was born. Stomach cramps, vomiting, diarrhea, I refused to drink my mothers milk, or cows milk, as it made me very ill. My Mom had to feed me goats milk which was very satisfying for my infant stomach.

I still have a bad allergy to milk, but not as bad as I did when I was a child, as I can eat yogurt.

I think we should always remember to thank God everyday we have here on Earth, because nobody is promised tomorrow.
