This is the 2nd (Roman Numeral ll) Sunday in a row that I've
taken my mother to our old "family" (Episcopal) Church. So,
I was shocked that the August 4, 2013 11th Sunday after
Pentecost "FIRST READING" was Hosea 11:1-11:

Hosea 11:1-11 (NRSV)
10 They shall go after the Lord, who roars like a lion;
when he roars, his children shall come trembling
from the west.
11 They shall come trembling like birds from Egypt,
and like doves from the land of Assyria;
and I will return them to their homes, says the Lord.

This seems to LINK with this set of dreams!

It becomes "double" interesting, to me, because this is the
same church I was in as a 18 year old teenager when the
following took place:

My experience from 1967:

Rare earthquake (6/4/67) below as I was in church. I only lived
about 30 miles or so from Greenville, MS.

June 4, 1967 Earthquake
Southeast Arkansas
The U.S. Weather Bureau office in Memphis, Tennessee reported
an earthquake on Sunday, June 4, 1967 at 11:15 a.m. CDT. The
earthquake was felt in southeastern Arkansas in area from Eudora
to Warren to Forrest City. In neighboring Mississippi, the earthquake
was felt from Greenville to Memphis.

A search of the National Center for Earthquake Engineering Research
catalog for the central and eastern United States, 1627-1985, lists this
earthquake as occurring about 20 miles northeast of Greenville,
Mississippi at 33.550 degrees latitude and -90.840 degrees longitude
at a depth of 6 kilometers and a magnitude of 4.3.

The ONLY time I can remember being SO SCARED that I couldn't move
was in the old family Episcopal church back when I was 18 years
old in 1967, the day before the Six Day War started. We had a
visiting Canadian minister (with snow white hair) serving as interim
pastor at the time. To this naive, unsaved young man (me), this
VERY "proper" English accent and snow white hair, might as well
have been Moses! Being a lost teenager, I could NOT have CARED
LESS about church, Christianity, etc. "BUT", as this old gentleman
stood at the front of the church that morning, a VERY RARE earthquake
shook the entire church! The quake was a 4.3 magnitude and occurred
on Sunday, June 4, 1967 (I found it on the Internet) which was the day
before the Six Day War started. This caused me to be SO SCARED
that I could NOT even get up ("move"). My cousin went outside to see
what had happened and the old minister just said, "I believe that God is
trying to tell us something!"

The reason this frightened me so, I believe, was that our neighbor (who
was VERY MUCH into prophecy and, obviously, watching "Israel"), had
told my mother while I was listening, "Child, have you heard, 'IT'S THE
END OF THE WORLD!'" and then, went on to explain to her "something"
about the times, Israel, and prophecy (she was BIG into prophecy). This
conversation between my mother and our neighbor might well have
happened the day before this quake and she was "responding" to the
news events of that day leading up to the Six Day War! At the time of
that church's shaking, I did NOT want to be facing God, believe me!!!
