1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

God's Firewall & Advanced System Care Program

I was watching the advanced system care program on my computer scan just now as it checked for malware, internet problems, junk files, etc, and cleaned them up. When it scans it shows a little flashlight going in a circle looking for trouble. Then when it finishes scanning, a little blue wrench turns as it repairs the problems and cleans up the computer.

Just today I had been discouraged about old attitudes and the old nature trying to get the upper hand in my life. As I watched that system scan operate it occurred to me that this is how the Holy Spirit operates in our lives. When we give Him permission or turn on the scan by confessing our sin, then He uses the Light of God to scan our inmost parts to uncover, repair and remove "malware", mental, emotional and spiritual viruses, and junk files.

The verse that comes to mind is from one of John's letters - "If we confess our sin, He is faithful and just to forgive our sin and to CLEANSE us from all unrighteousness."

Also John reminds us, "If we walk in the light as He is in the light we will have fellowship one with another."

The FIREWALL? From Zechariah - "I will be a wall of fire around them and the glory in their midst". Jesus is our firewall. According to Hebrews, "He ever liveth to make intercession for us..". When we are covered by the blood of Jesus, we have a covering of protection from the enemy who seeks our destruction. Also, remember from Ephesians 6 to put on the whole armor of God that we may be able to stand.

What a mighty God we serve!

Texas Sue, thank you so much for this post. Scan us o Lord, clean us, repair and transform us into a glorious vessel, without spot or wrinkle for You. Father God, Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

What an interesting way to look at it. Yes indeed Regina, Scan us Oh Lord,
as we confess our sins, and remove all the malware, junk, whatever is clogging up our lives.

Lord God, Cleanse us of all of sins, through the precious blood of Jesus.
Correct our wrong thinking, and let no one try to deceive or mislead us, with their viral, evil worm holes thoughts or sneak in with their destructive Trojan horse half truth teaching and ideas. Instead, remind us to stay safe by taking it all to your Perfect Word, the Holy Bible to compare, if it lines up with scripture; especially God inspired written word, by holy men and breath by the Lord. Make us more like your beloved Son Jesus, and less like ourselves. Help us to keep our eyes on Jesus at all times, listen and allow the Holy Spirit to teach us all things of God. We then may work to our full efficiency and capacity, for your Honor, Glory, and Kingdom. Amen!
