1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

2 Timothy 4:7-8
For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing

I need prayer for myself

I met my old high school classmate..40 years later..in July..He has told me he has thought about me all these many years, and wants to be my friend now for the rest of our days..we are both in unhappy marriages, and I won't commit adultery ..but we are very fond of each other.. pray for me and Him..HIs initial is J. I really care for him and want to share Jesus ..please pray the Lord will do and work in his heart..as he tells me he loves my soul and finds me very comforting to him..He is very stressed as a lawyer..and I knew he was fond of me way back when, but he says he still feels the same now for me.
I need you all to pray please??????????
Thanks Steffie

Re: I need prayer for myself

Steffie,

I cannot stress enough that you must avoid this "friendship" at all costs. If you want to share the Lord, then pray for him, but you must cut this off NOW. I had two dear friends.....the husband was a pastor in his forties. He contacted an old high school friend via Facebook. They both said they were unhappy in their marriages. The "friendship" ended up becoming an affair. His faith, his ministry, his marriage ....ruined. They didn't end up together, by the way. There aren't any "happily ever afters" when this occurs. It's just a MASSIVE deception and a trainwreck to the families involved. This is a HUGE trap of Satan and you were do well to RUN. We are so close to the Lord's return.....don't let ANYONE steal your crown!

Re: I need prayer for myself

Please be careful Steffie. It's so easy to fall into temptation under such circumstances. I speak from experience. I was never unfaithful, but I admit that I was tempted, and the temptation was very strong and powerful. The circumstances were also eerily similar to yours. I too thought that I could help him and encourage him to turn to Jesus. Thankfully the Lord saved me out of it before I made any huge mistakes. Once I opened my eyes and came to my senses, I ran from the situation. All praise goes to Jesus! I was weak and stupid, and felt so ashamed for allowing myself to become tempted in that way. I also wasn't walking very closely with the Lord at the time, but He had mercy on me and pulled me away from it. I've never told anyone this before.
Just please be on your guard. Maybe it would be best to avoid the relationship? Why put yourself in that position, you know? Just speaking out of love, and because I've been in your shoes, almost exactly!

Re: I need prayer for myself

I agree with both posters.
Please Pray..The Our Father prayer.
Pray he will be saved and God will renew his heart towards his wife
And pray God will rekindle your love for your husband and vice versa.
We are so close to His Coming..
Stay on the right path.
I am praying for both of you.

Re: I need prayer for myself

I agree with the other posters, too. Definitely pray that God will save him and give him a new love for his wife (and vice-versa), because he and his wife both need it. And pray that God will send someone into his life to share God's love with him, because it's clear that you're in too vulnerable a position yourself to be that someone. That's how you can best spiritually minister to your former boyfriend, Steffie (I'm assuming he was your boyfriend in high school). God will honor your prayers on his behalf if you take the course of action we're suggesting.

Re: I need prayer for myself

Steffie,

I agree with all whom posted here. Please don't fall for this, and do pray the Our Father, the prayer that Jesus taught us!

Friendship is not a good idea with an old flame, and the Rapture is close right now.

Please listen to all the advise here, it's for your best interest and all involved.

Praying that God with remind you if you should even think of falling into temptation, that neither one of you are free, and married to other people.

I know you've been battling this for awhile.
Praying that you will talk to him, and tell him, because you both are in unhappy marriages, it's easy to fall into temptation...therefore, it's better in this instance to be an aquaintances now, and leave the friendship alone.

Re: I need prayer for myself

Steffie,

Dear sister in christ, I agree with all the replies everyone has given to your situation. I find it very fishy that you reconnect with this old friend now, so close to our redemption. This is a plan from the enemy to snare you!!! Be careful dear sister, do as the other posters have said and RUN!!!! Pray for him but keep your distance, as someone previously stated you are in no condition to lead him to christ directly, at the moment he is to strong of a temptation for you. Also remember that we can't go by our feelings, unfortunately that is what gets us in trouble most of the time. We have to go by the word of God and God hates Divorce!
Please don't take this the wrong way dear sister, I know our feelings can feel all to real and strong, and humans that we are we are very vulnerable to our emotions. However remember that God feels very strongly about us being faithful to the husbands and wives of our Youth. I know things must be hard in your marriage right now for you to even come to such conclusions and to feel tempted. However, do not entertain those thoughts, instead ask God to strengthen you in your time of weakness and ask him to return to you the Love for your husband and pray the same for your friend. That God may repair both of your marriages. I will pray for you sister Steffie and for your friend. May God protect you and keep you until the day of our redemption.

God bless you
LUCY

Re: I need prayer for myself

Steffie? We haven't heard from you since you posted last night. Are you all right? Is everything all right? We've been praying for you.

Re: I need prayer for myself

Steffie, you are in our prayers!

We'll see you soon at the Rapture!

Father guide your daughter Stephanie, and help her and her friend, know that you love them, and have their best interest at heart. Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy, on all whom come to you in prayer and supplication; may your mercy rest upon them and all whom call on the name of Jesus! Amen & Amen@
