Trevor, I went to both earthquake sites and you are right. There are only a few and they are tiny ones. YES! It does look like the calm before the storm. It is almost eerie really. There have been so many in the 4,5, and 6 range the last week. So many large quakes in the first half of September and now almost nothing all day. Hmmmm.......what is going on?

I think so too Trevor, I had a dream a few nights ago where I was trying to convince some friends (in the dream) that a 9.0 to 14.3 Earthquake was about to hit.

I was yelling it, but it was raining and no one seemed to believe me. I wonder if we will see the destruction begin immediately after we hear that shofar blast and rocket off this rock.

Wow Clay, what a fun (and unusual,haha) post! thanks guys for commenting. We are up to only five eq's for the day! This is a record since I began to track them daily, since becoming a watcher two and a half years ago. Anyways, this topic is of more interest to us Portlanders, so sorry to carry on about it! What is unusual, however, is there have been radio commercials warning us about 'The Big One'...may we be taken out of here prior. God bless.

Good morning, I wanted to follow-up on this post from last week. Like I mentioned, daily earthquakes with magnitude of 3.0 or greater range from 20-40 per day. It seemed that after that record low day on the 20th, of only 8 quakes in the world, that things would pick back up, but that hasn't been the case. For the last four days, not including the 20th, the average number has been 14 a day. Again, I can assure you that this is really abnormal. On any given day, the world can expect to see twice this, 25-30. In watching these for the last several months, I think I remember once when it wasnt over 20.

Anyways, we shouldn't be surprised that things are shaping up for a major event this week, and this may be a factor as well, since the 'big one' may happen at the time of our departure.
