1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

2 Timothy 4:7-8
For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing

US UN Vote - Possible Scenerios

(My first time to write an article so go easy on me :)

Hello,

I wanted to discuss the situation that is currently developing in the UN meeting that is going on this month in New York City. As many of you know the main focus of this meeting is Abbas’s determination to petition the United Nations Security Council for United Nations membership in which the Palestinians could be recognized as a legitimate Palestinian State based on the pre-1967 borders. I have to admit I am amazed daily at the rate at which things are speeding up. I was talking to my wife about the current events and just couldn’t stop thinking about how as always, at any moment the rapture could take place but, more now so than ever.

My main focus is on different scenarios on how everything that is shaping up in the middle east and around the world concerning this Palestinian State issue (which has been a fester in that region for quite some time now) and how a United States Veto or Recognition can affect the outcome. I remember young Benjamin Netanyahu being grilled in a debate concerning the Palestinian issue at the age of 28 already having fought in two wars and losing his brother in the latter. You would have thought he was talking about today’s issues and very much so still talking about it, and still of the same mindset. A rather interesting development is since Abbas has abandoned negotiations and attempting to unilaterally bring in a separate Palestinian State through a UN Security Council meeting of recognition puts Israel between a “rock and a hard place”.

At the current moment over 140 nations out of the 193 members support the creation of a Palestinian state with the remaining as undecided. Out of the 15 Security Council Nations 14 accept and will vote in recognition of a Palestinian State. It would seem that the only thing to stand in Abbas’s way would be the United States which holds permanent member status of the council and veto power that only 5 total nations possess. The “Showdown” that is coming to head in the next few days will outline just how volatile the situation currently is. On the 23rd of September Abbas and Benjamin Netanyahu will be presenting their case to the Assembly. I believe what is fueling this is the current backing that Abbas has in the international community. For the last few years nations have been publicly coming out in support and creation of a Palestinian State.

The Arab Spring that has happened this year which has strained Israel’s relations with Turkey and which recently recalled Israel’s military pact, expelled its Ambassador, & downgraded its relations over Israel’s response last year to the Gaza flotilla raid, in which Israel in self defense killed 9 turkish citizens. With Egypt under military interim government, Turkey taking a position in hostility with Israel and the current Arab Spring in which Bahrain, Yemen, Syria, Lebanon, Tunisia, Libya, Jordan and many more are currently experiencing protests, campaigns, strikes, terrorism, uprising that is shaking up the entire region all seemingly at the manipulating hand of “The Brotherhood” which is bent on the destruction of Israel.

The pressure is mounting upon Israel leaving it with very few allies. The scriptures say in these last days that the whole world will be joined against Israel & we are currently seeing the formation of these events unfolding before our very own eyes. With almost no one left to defend Israel except the United States we are seeing the United States coming under the pressures of being one of the only ones in the world to oppose it. Nations like Saudi Arabia and China, our key sources for Oil and Economic ties is pressuring us to vote for and not use our veto power. Regardless of how the situation goes down, Israel is still going to be under world pressure unlike it has ever seen before. If the United States votes for it, then Israel will have no choice but to defend its borders when they refuse to give up land and Arab Nations come to the aid of the Palestinians which could lead Israel to activate the “Samson” option in which it has outlined strategic targets that will decimate and decapitate key opponents with nuclear weapons. One of those targets suggested is Damascus in which we know the prophecy in Isaiah 17.

Isaiah 17:1 “The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap”

Or the Ezekiel 38 war in which it describes an ongoing conflict between Israel and the Arabs that will climax in a final war in which Israel will win a decisive victory over the Arabs.

If the United States chooses to veto the recognition it could send the world into a spiraling turmoil with more Rhetoric against the United States and possibly Arab nations and the world ignoring the veto and going forth to establish militarily a Palestinian State. The reason I assume this is because multiple leaders are describing consequences a veto would cause if it goes against what the majority of the world wants. Since America is already stretched beyond its capabilities militarily & economically with decade long wars in Iraq & Afghanistan, support roles with Nato in Libya, & the possibility with facing our own economic demise as increasing global debt and pressure may just sway the United States to simply say “We cannot afford to support Israel in this matter” gauging the possibility that we just can’t afford another war or any of the consequences attached to what a veto would do to the United States. Either way what I have outlined is that this could lead to the conclusion that we may be going into the time what the bible calls “Jacob’s Trouble”.

In the midst of the turmoil the world is experiencing especially Israel we as Christians know how this turns out and do what Jesus said to do “When you hear of these things be not troubled for such things needs be and to look up for our redemption draws near” but, most importantly we must be about our father’s business laboring in the harvest. We should be the salt and light of the earth and preach the Gospel with all boldness as we ought to speak. Let us remember the parables that Jesus told us about the man that hid his talent and the workers that were lazy because the master took so long to return. In closing I encourage you to pray for Israel. Paul prayed in Romans 10:1 that his heart’s desire is that Israel might be saved and rightly so, all the tribulation this world will go through will bring forth the salvation of Israel. Bless Israel and for the peace of Jerusalem and that Laborer’s go forth into the apple of God’s eye to preach the truth for a harvest of Souls.

Amen & Shalom

Re: US UN Vote - Possible Scenerios

Any way you look at it, the immediate results are going to be bad. The only encouragement, for us, is that God is just about to come and get us; for Israel, the only encouragement is that the Tribulation will result in Israel's salvation.

I really enjoyed that. Sadly I have to agree Isreal is heading for bad time's ahead. But we can take comfort knowing that our Lord will come for us. Pray for Isreal and Pray for the one's left behind brother and sister's.

Re: US UN Vote - Possible Scenerios

I so agree with you all, and enjoyed the synopsis of the what's happening now,

"Since America is already stretched beyond its capabilities militarily & economically with decade long wars in Iraq & Afghanistan, support roles with Nato in Libya, & the possibility with facing our own economic demise..."

and to add

By weakening America, the TPTB think they will take out Israel but they won't because Israel will take out all the Arabs surrounding them, giving Israel all their land,(the pawns, the Arabs will be eliminated),

and who is left is the antichrist group,

Israel will have their Temple, as no Arabs left to say lets share the temple mount

and the "world" will have to have a peace treaty so Israel won't take out the rest of the fools, which will leave Israel vulnerable.

(possible scenario only)

Dunamis

Thanks so much for sharing and writing this article!

I believe as Kathy as stated, this is a no win situation here, Israel will suffer, because of the actions about to be fulfilled. I too believe Jacob's troubles, are at hand, just as the Rapture is as well.
All this must be fulfilled as it is written in scripture, but remember, at the very end of it all the remanent of Israel will be saved, when Jesus returns to set up His kingdom on Earth. Our Messiah, and their Messiah, which they have failed to acknowledge or recognize as such to date.

We're so close to the tribulation now, that can only mean one thing, we are ever so close to the Rapture...any time now. This is the timeline, as we watch what will happen to Israel, in the next few weeks.

Maranatha!

As I write, a major focus in Israel is underway, called Palestinian’s Unilateral Declaration of Independence, (UDI).

This is an attempt to have the United Nations declare a sovereign Palestinian state without any negotiations with Israel. The U.S has already stated that it will not support this effort. Still, the results of this initiative promises to be a game changer.

First of all, both Israel and the United States have already declared agreement with a two-state solution to the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. Now, neither officially opposes a Palestinian state. What they do oppose is an independent, unilateral declaration of such a state that completely ignores any of Israel’s concerns. Let’s get this straight. The Palestinians refuse to recognize Israel as a Jewish state. Yet, they want to be and are asking to be recognized as a Palestinian state.

Further, they refuse to denounce the promotion and practice of terrorism. They refuse to honor any and all past treaties and agreements between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. Yet they do still honor all charter documents of the Palestinian Authority, Hamas, al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, Islamic Jihad and al Qaeda – all of which call for the total annihilation and removal of the modern State of Israel with a Palestinian state put in its place.

Negotiations have now become a charade. Any act of deterrence only incentivizes more terror activities. Islamic Jihadists are drunk with a diabolical death wish for martyrdom. Killing Jews and other infidels, Christians included, is preached and promoted openly for all to hear.

Secondly, although much of the world and the world leaders may view the Bible as having no authority, the whole notion of a two-state solution in the Promised Land is in flagrant defiance of God’s covenant promises for a national homeland for the Jewish people. Sadly, even Israel refuses to base its foreign policy, especially regarding the Palestinians, on this eternal decree – to their own detriment. If the political leadership in the U.S. is even aware of God’s ultimate decision regarding this land, it has not been reflected in its foreign policy related to Israel. Why does this matter? Assuredly, this will not bode well for us. God remains unequivocal when he says, “I will bless those who bless you those who curse you I will curse.” (Genesis 12: 3)

However, a Congressional resolution has been initiated by Rep. Joe Walsh (R, IL) calling for Israel to annex Judea and Samaria (the West Bank) if the Palestinians continue to pursue UDI. It remains to be seen if the action will get any traction in Congress and the Administration. To be sure the liberal media will be apoplectic and many fence straddlers will call in sick.

Thirdly, if the Palestinian UDI is recognized - it would be a downright de facto recognition of terrorists and a terrorist state. The Palestinians would first of all bring this issue before the U.N. General Assembly. They would call for international isolation and delegitimization of Israel. It is a fact that legally, the UN General Assembly does not have the power at this point in history to bestow statehood. However, with the overwhelming majority of anti-Israel nations in the U.N., an affirmative vote for Palestinian statehood would have enormous negative propaganda value. Again, the U.S. has already declared that it will exercise its veto power if the resolution gets passed from the General Assembly to the U.N. Security Council where statehood could be recognized.

Israel’s Ambassador to the United States, Michael Oren has stated that if Palestinian UDI is recognized, indeed, that could mean all former agreements between the Palestinian Authority and Israel will be null and void. However, that might end up to be a blessing in disguise. How? If terrorism from another declared sovereign state is directed against Israel (which is inevitable), that would then be an act of war, a declaration of war. Like any other sovereign nation, they would have to deal with it accordingly.

In any case, with the results of the “Arab spring” still in doubt, with Iran and Hizbollah continuing to rattle their sabers, and with the Palestinian UDI destined to result in some sort of third intifada, Israel must continue to be prepared. The briefings I received during my recent visit to Israel continue to convince me that, at least for the time being, Israel is fully capable of, as they say, “containing and managing the conflict.”

The Scriptures speak of “that day” when only by God’s intervention will a remnant of Israel be saved. It further prophesies that a remnant of Gentiles will be engrafted into that remnant of Israel. Together they make up “The Israel of God.” (Romans 11:17 ff; Daniel 12:1,7; Deuteronomy 32:36, 39-43).

Until then, we will remain faithful to our calling to inform, educate and activate support for Israel and the Jewish people in these end times when much of the world is turning against them. We ask you to please partner with us in this effort. We know these are difficult economic times for all of us. We have especially felt it in The Jerusalem Connection this summer. As you know we are a faith-based ministry that utilizes volunteers to the max, including me and my wife. If you believe what we are doing counts for God’s Kingdom and His Messiah, the Lord Jesus, we ask for your help. We are as cost conscious as we can be. We ask you to pray and trust in God with us for His favor and provision for His work. With your help, we press on in the work God has called us to. I know you will pray about how you can be a regular prayer and financial partner with us.

Thank you for your prayer and consideration – Yahweh bless you!
